Update of history (The future of humans and Russia in the 21st century)

Author: [Russian] Yu. M. Luzhkov
Publisher:
Publishing Date: 2003-01-01
Features: I have a great fondness for your great nation and people, as well as their ancient culture, and therefore I am deeply moved by the publication of the Chinese edition of my book The Renewal of History. Naturally, the book primarily focuses on the development of our country and its role in this new, changing world. However, it is precisely Asia and Europe, like Russia, that are now seeking their place in the global space. In my judgment, I do not claim to possess the truth, but rather seek to inspire readers to engage in profound and meaningful discussions on issues such as globalization, the evolution of nations and democracy, and localization. I highly value the long-standing Chinese culture, and I have visited your country many times, to many places in China. I am not speaking from hearsay to know how friendly and hardworking your people are. The capitals of our two countries are firmly connected by strong bonds of cooperation, mutual assistance, and sincere goodwill. Humanism, reason, and beauty—these are the cornerstones upon which our lives should be built, and they are the reliable guarantees of a better future. If the noble readers of China, after reading my book, feel the desire to visit Moscow and see its historic landmarks, I would be delighted. The people of Moscow warmly welcome you in their tradition and hospitably host you.
