How can one recover quickly after circumcision?

Patient's question:

I still haven't divorced, but I have phimosis myself. It's said that phimosis can be harmful to both myself and my wife during sex, and sometimes it causes pain during intercourse. Moreover, bacteria inside the foreskin can potentially give my wife gynecological diseases. Additionally, I'm worried that our sex life might not be satisfying after marriage, so I decided to go to the hospital to get a circumcision.

Doctor's answer:

1. After circumcision, you should rest in bed for a few days and avoid standing or sitting for long periods. If local blood circulation is poor, it may directly cause swelling of the glans penis and affect wound healing.
2. After circumcision, wear loose underwear. Usually, after the wound is re-bandaged and dressed by the doctor postoperatively, a gauze curtain will be placed in the genital area to increase friction on the glans penis.
3. After circumcision, the diet should be based on simplicity. Avoid alcohol and spicy foods, except for fish, beef, lamb, and seafood.
4. After circumcision, try to keep the private area dry and avoid getting it wet. If urine accidentally gets on the gauze, you should promptly go to the hospital to change it.
