Patient's question:
Last month of last year, I gave birth to a daughter naturally. After the postpartum period, the neighborhood committee started urging me to get an IUD inserted. I eventually did, but since then, my menstrual cycle has been irregular, with longer bleeding periods. I also often feel lower back pain and have noticed an increase in leukorrhea. A few days ago, a thorough examination revealed endometritis.Doctor's answer:
As the placement time shortens, the menstrual flow will gradually increase. If the postmenstrual bleeding period is prolonged (continuously below two weeks) or the menstrual period extends, the flow continues to increase, and after thorough examination, no abnormalities are found. Treatment with hemostatic drugs, vitamin K, vitamin C, etc., is administered. If these abnormal conditions reappear later, it is normal. There may be a very small amount of vaginal bleeding, but attention should be paid to the duration and amount of bleeding. Under normal circumstances, the skin will usually peel off and disappear on its own within 3 to 7 days. Some women may also experience continuous increase in menstrual flow, prolonged menstrual period, or irregular bleeding between two menstrual periods.
