Patient's question:
Hello doctor, I would like to consult some questions. I am 35 years old this year, and I usually pay attention to living and hygiene. But recently, I don't know why I always feel some discomfort in my glans, especially itchy, and it's also slightly swollen. Upon careful examination, it's balanitis. How should it be treated?Doctor's answer:
External treatments for treating balanoposthitis include:(1) For trichomoniasis balanoposthitis, a 0.5%–1% lactic acid solution, a 0.5% acetic acid solution, or a 1:5000 potassium permanganate solution can be used to wipe the glans and inner foreskin.
(2) For candidal balanoposthitis, a baking soda solution can be used to clean the affected area, or imidazole creams such as Daktarin cream or clotrimazole cream can be applied externally.
(3) For dandelion wash, take 30g of dandelion, 30g of chrysanthemum, and 10g of, decoct them in water, and use the decoction to externally bathe the affected area once a day, with each application lasting about 20 minutes.
