Features: This book discusses the "retrogressive tendency" during Lu Xun's period in Japan in Chapter 2, which is the author's master's thesis and one of the areas where the author has devoted significant effort. Chapter 3 primarily explores the formation of the ideologicalization of the "Lu Xun tradition" during the Yan'an period. The author argues that "Lu Xun" has become a unique spiritual phenomenon in China throughout the 20th century, starting from the Yan'an period, because its formation is intertwined with various aspects such as mainstream politics, culture, intellectuals, and the general public. Therefore, understanding it purely from the perspective of academic research history is far from sufficient. Chapter 4 is the result of the author's recent learning from peers in academia. They are mostly the author's elders. While learning from them, the author also critiques, reflects on, and examines the limitations of their research findings. The author believes that one of the benefits of being in academia is learning how to criticize others, and Lu Xun has also inspired the author to scrutinize oneself more severely while analyzing others. Thus, when the author criticizes their research findings, they often weigh the potential intellectual depth they themselves might achieve. Most of the content in this book has been previously published in journals such as Hebei Xuekan, Kai Fang Shi Dai, Gansu She Kexue, and the aforementioned Lu Xun Yanjiu Yuekan.
