Features: Traditional Chinese thought and culture is an extremely vast field. The ancient civilization it contains, and how it connects with modern natural sciences, social sciences, and humanities, has attracted the attention and concern of scholars both in China and around the world. Since the reform and opening-up, many scholars have liberated their minds and made pioneering efforts, conducting truly scientific and independent research from the perspective of contemporary academic development, achieving fruitful results. The National Plan Group for the Collection, Arrangement, and Publication of Ancient Books has always emphasized the combination of the arrangement and publication of ancient texts (including unearthed artifacts) with systematic research on traditional culture. It advocates closely linking the precise achievements of research and arrangement with modern construction, ensuring that the inheritance and promotion of outstanding traditional Chinese thought and culture are both scientifically grounded and clearly directed. For this very reason, the preface to the "Ten-Year Plan for the Collection, Arrangement, and Publication of Ancient Books and the 'Eighth Five-Year Plan'" formulated in 1992 specifically mentioned: "In the next decade, it is essential to prioritize the timely publication of academic monographs that modern scholars have produced on ancient texts, yielding significant results. It is also necessary to encourage modern scholars to dedicate themselves to the study of ancient Chinese texts with a modern scientific spirit, with the aim of applying ancient wisdom to the present." To facilitate the smooth publication of research monographs on traditional culture and to encourage the spirit of academic innovation, as well as to promote a rigorous and realistic academic style, the National Plan Group for the Collection, Arrangement, and Publication of Ancient Books specially commissioned its Academic Committee to organize the publication of the "Series of Studies on Chinese Traditional Culture." This series is published annually, with each volume containing ten titles, and a portion of the funds provided by the state is allocated as financial support for publication.
