Features: After a pianist mysteriously ignites, he leaves behind a strange will. A young music critic follows the instructions and travels to Paris but only receives a box of blank tapes. What kind of influence does the "Devil's Sonata" have? Will it be used by multinational corporations to control human thought? The novel "Devil's Sonata" is my long, conceived in 2002, and I began writing it in February of the following year. It took about two years to complete, and there were several times during the process when I thought I couldn't continue. Fortunately, I finished it in the end—in the quiet of the night, listening to Chopin's music while writing.
The inspiration for the novel comes from the legends of demonic music in classical music. It is said that demonic music was created by humans themselves, as its power comes from the depths of the human psyche. In the novel, this piece of music represents human civilization—the things we create—will they help us or will they destroy us? Therefore, the novel does not make a final judgment on the role of the music. Whether it is good or evil, it hopes to provoke such reflections. The mark that signifies the ability to play the Devil's Sonata—the runic Sigel tattoo of "Life" on the back of the hand—also carries this symbolism.
