Features: Originally named Jiang Bingzhi, she was from Linli, Hunan Province. She was a female writer of the modern and contemporary period. In the late 1920s, she published works such as the novel "The Diary of Lady Saifei," which sparked in the literary world. In 1930, she joined the Chinese League of Left-Wing Writers, later becoming the editor-in-chief of its organ "Beidou" and serving as the party secretary of the league. After 1936, she held various positions, including director of the executive committee of the Chinese Literary Association, deputy director of the Literary Association of the Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia Border Region, and editor-in-chief of the literary supplement of "The People's Daily." In 1948, she completed the novel "The Sun Shines Over the Sanggan River," which won the Stalin Prize in Literature in 1951. After the founding of New China, she served as the director of the Central Literary Research Institute, head of the Cultural Department of the Central Propaganda Department, editor-in-chief of "The People's Literature," and vice president of the Chinese Writers' Association. Her major works include "Selected Works of Ding Ling," "Yan'an Collection," as well as collections of short stories, novellas, and essays. Ding Ling's life experience is highly distinctive, filled with drama and storytelling, to the extent that it can almost be said that no other writer in the history of modern and contemporary Chinese literature compares to her in this regard. This book, "Ding Ling's Autobiography," narrates her life of "a moth drawn to the flame" through her own words.
