Features: The book "The Seesaw Game: Comparative Research on Public Administration" is a research outcome of the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission's project "Comparative Study of Chinese and Foreign Public Administration." It conducts a comparative study of public administration models in Western countries, including the representative models of the United Kingdom, the United States, mainland Europe, and Northern Europe. Through an analysis of the public administration reform processes in these countries, it reveals the ideological elements that guide their public administration and reform models. This ideological distinction in the field of public administration can be vividly as a seesaw between fairness and efficiency. The book concludes by focusing on China's public administration reform, proposing a basic framework for establishing a public administration model with Chinese characteristics. The author attempts to present dry and tedious theories in an engaging and lively prose style. This book provides researchers and practitioners of public administration with a wealth of advanced theories and case studies from public administration practices around the world, including firsthand materials that have not yet been translated into Chinese. It can serve as a reference for teaching and learning in MPA and university public administration programs.
