Is BPH really treatable?

Patient's question:

Doctor, I want to know if it's curable to have benign prostatic hyperplasia. I've lived a proper life in the first half of my life, never engaging in casual relationships with men and women, but now that I'm old, how could I get this disease? I'm really heartbroken

Doctor's answer:

Prostate enlargement, also known as benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), is a common condition that significantly affects the health of elderly men. Modern medicine believes that prostate enlargement is related to the endocrine system, resulting from fibrosis of the epithelial cells and stromal fibers of the inner urethral glands and suburethral glands, cystic expansion of the glandular sacs, and fibrosis of connective tissue and smooth muscle. With proper treatment, this disease can be cured, although it may not be completely healed.
