Features: Regarding the development of science and technology in China, academia has primarily focused on the study of the history of science and technology, while there has been relatively little research on the history of science and culture, especially the science and culture of contemporary China since the founding of the People's Republic of China. This study attempts to break through the scope of the history of science and technology and aims to explore the process of China's scientific and technological development since the founding of the country from the perspective of intellectual and cultural history. Based on three levels—strategic thinking in scientific development, institutional construction in scientific development, and changes in scientific and cultural concepts—the study seeks to provide new insights into China's scientific and technological development. In the future, as China moves toward building a moderately prosperous society in all respects, it is essential not only to achieve the integration of global and local science and technology to create a favorable strategic and cultural environment for scientific development but also to promote the socialization of science and the scientization of society to establish a positive mechanism for interaction between science and society. Moreover, it is necessary to transcend traditional cultural concepts that constrain scientific development through the scientification of science education and the scientificization of education, thereby cultivating a scientifically literate citizenry prepared for the future. This is the only path to ultimately realizing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation in terms of scientific and cultural development.
