Features: The Career Anchor Theory, a "patriarch" in the field of career planning, was proposed by Professor Edgar Schein of the United States. When UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan returned to MIT to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Sloan School of Management, he specially thanked one of his former teachers, who was Edgar Schein. Annan recalled that after graduating, he was sent to Africa by the UN for work. When he encountered difficult problems, he would return to the Sloan School to consult with Professor Schein, and the problems were then resolved. The author of this book, Professor Edgar Schein, is an expert in human resource management at the Sloan School of Management at MIT. He conducted a decades-long longitudinal study starting in the 1960s and, based on this research, established the Career Anchor Theory. This theory can be used to help individuals gain self-insight and also to help organizations better understand their employees. Schein's early work, "Career Dynamics," first systematically elaborated on the Career Anchor Theory and introduced the concept of five career anchors, which had a profound impact on academia and career consulting firms worldwide.
