Features: This book thoroughly describes the stylistic features of news English through the observation of a large amount of corpus. It explains these features and patterns from three planes of the linguistic system—syntax, semantics, and pragmatics—as well as from perspectives such as cognitive styles and cultural traditions. Additionally, it validates and supplements relevant linguistic theories and grammatical theories from the perspective of news language. Subsequently, the study progresses from stylistic research to genre analysis and discourse analysis, with a specific focus on in-depth reporting in news English.
