Features: Ancient Towns Collection Series. A map for finding one's homeland. Anhui is located in the southeastern hinterland of China and the northwestern part of Central China. The Yangtze River and Huai River run across it from north to south, with Huaibei Plain, Jianghuai Hills, Anzhong Plain, and Annan Mountains stretching from north to south. Most of Anhui's ancient residences are concentrated in the ancient Huizhou region in southern Anhui, covering one prefecture and six counties (Yixing, Shexing, Xiuning, Qimen, Jixi, and Wuyuan). Due to its relatively isolated geographical location, it has formed a group of ancient villages with distinct regional characteristics known as [Huizhou Culture].
Jiangxi, abbreviated as [Gan], is located on the southern bank of the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, primarily characterized by mountains and hills. The terrain is high in the center and low around the edges, sloping gently from north to south, resembling a basin opening northward. Due to its complex geographical and cultural environment, Jiangxi has formed numerous ancient villages with distinctive features. The ancient villages in the Wuyuan area of northern Jiangxi are mostly Huizhou-style architecture, surrounded by green mountains and embraced by clear waters, with white-walled and black-tiled roofs.
China's Ancient Towns will guide you in searching for places with blue tiles and white walls, winding streams, and those last homes that have not faded away. You will discover every unfamiliar ancient town, yet feel an extraordinary sense of familiarity. Because they are, in fact, memories in your bloodline—the eternal longing that every Chinese person carries.
