European Contract Law (Volume 1)

Author: [Germany] Kutz

Features: Books and regulations themselves do not create European private law. Before it becomes a reality, lawyers need to be trained in the entire European private law, not just the training in their own national law. Therefore, this book is designed to help students across Europe learn contract law based on the principles and mechanisms that are generally applicable to European legal systems. In this book, the author first introduces the basic rules regarding the formation, content, and effectiveness of contracts in a general manner, and then discusses the obligations of the parties to the contract in performing their contractual duties and the liability for breach of contract. This book primarily deals with "general" contract law, similar to the contract law found in British textbooks, such as lease, employment, or credit contracts. Special rules for specific types of contracts are only mentioned in individual places. The structure of this book is very conventional. We did not follow the trend and still present the structure of contract law in the traditional order.
