What are the steps for newborn resuscitation?

Patient's question:

What are the steps and procedures for newborn resuscitation? What are the indications for using epinephrine in newborn resuscitation? Which method is better?

Doctor's answer:

Initial resuscitation: Requires completion within 15-20 seconds after birth:
(1) Warmth preservation: Due to the aversion to delivery, the infant should be placed immediately on a preheated radiant warmer.
(2) Reduced heat loss: Dry the head and body with a warm towel.
(3) Body positioning: The shoulder pad should be elevated 2-3 cm to slightly extend the neck.
(4) Airway clearance: Immediately suction mucus from the mouth, pharynx, and nasal cavity, with the duration not exceeding 10 seconds. If the amniotic fluid is contaminated with meconium, the mouth and nose should be suctioned clean before delivery. After the shoulder is delivered, the internal meconium in the airway should be flushed under a laryngoscope before the first breath.
