Features: Corporate transformation is akin to genetic mutation in nature. The ability of a company to undergo genetic mutation is what we call transformation capability. For companies with strong transformation capability, the mutation leads to optimization, whereas for those with weak transformation capability, it results in alienation. Alienation ultimately leads to failure to adapt to the external environment, much like certain extinct species in nature that perished. The market, much like nature, operates on a positive feedback mechanism where the strong get stronger and the weak get weaker. Only a few companies manage to make a profit and survive. Therefore, Chinese enterprises must either enhance their transformation capability to thrive or fail to adapt to the business environment and be eliminated by the market, ultimately leading to their demise. Transformation capability is the core competency for corporate success. The key to corporate transformation lies in whether the transformation strategy is built upon core competencies. The ultimate goal of transformation is to enable a company to possess sustainable competitive advantages, thereby gaining an edge in the fierce and ever-changing market competition and achieving long-term viability. Without transformation capability, even world-class enterprises will wither and die. Transformation capability is a comprehensive competitiveness that encompasses a company's transformation ability, intensity, and strategy, serving as an effective extension of execution capability. Since China's entry into the WTO, corporate internationalization has been an inevitable trend. As the marketization of Chinese enterprises continues to improve, the issue of transformation has become a bottleneck for domestic enterprises to regain strength. Without addressing the transformation issue and without robust transformation capability, it is difficult for Chinese enterprises to secure a place in the transformation of strong international competitors. Chinese enterprises bear a dual historical mission: first, to strengthen the nation, with enterprises as the foundation of national strength; second, to transform culture, with enterprises as the primary economic organizational form in modern nations, tasked with transforming traditional agricultural culture into modern industrial culture, or even information culture. The question this book explores is how Chinese enterprises can enhance their transformation capability, or how they can achieve genetic optimization to become the surviving few, rather than succumbing to genetic alienation and death. The greatest profit for a company lies in building absolute transformation capability. In conclusion, Chinese enterprises face a significant historical responsibility in international transformation, and the journey will not be smooth. They must be fully prepared to face various risks, difficulties, and challenges. It is hoped that this book will provide valuable insights for the leaders and decision-makers of Chinese enterprises regarding the transformation of competitiveness.
