Part I: Theory and History
By reviewing and examining theories of institutions and institutional innovation, this part scientifically defines the conceptual scope of the research object, explores and summarizes the characteristics and patterns of historical changes in the agricultural household operation system, and analyzes the innovative mechanisms of China's agricultural household contract system. The purpose is to lay a theoretical foundation and provide historical experience for rationally understanding economic phenomena and outstanding issues in the development of contemporary Chinese agriculture, as well as for designing innovations in the agricultural household operation system.
Part II: Reality and Problems
This part primarily conducts theoretical analysis and efficiency evaluation of the agricultural household operation system and its efficiency characteristics since the innovation of the agricultural household contract system, from the research perspectives of institutional costs and institutional efficiency. The goal is to provide a cognitive premise and practical basis for designing innovations in the agricultural household operation system.
Part III: Design and Implementation
Starting from the requirements of building a socialist market economy, this part focuses on improving the efficiency of the agricultural household operation system, with the tasks and goals being the specialization, commercialization, socialization, and modernization of agricultural household operations. Fully considering the holistic, interconnected, and synergistic characteristics and requirements of the institutional structure of agricultural household operations, chapters 7 to 12 provide a comprehensive design of the target model, specific content, implementation strategies, and reform process of the innovative agricultural household operation system. This aims to offer a set of operationally feasible reform proposals for the practice of innovative agricultural household operation systems and attempts to provide theoretical interpretation and explanation of the innovative design from the perspective of efficiency comparison.
