October Novel Writing Series, August Osmanthus Blossoms Everywhere

Features: Military writer Xu Guixiang has been dubbed the "aggressive attacker" in the genre of military-themed fiction for a series of works such as Traceless Trajectory, The Decisive Battle, and The Sky of History. His novel The Sky of History has been adapted into a TV series and is currently being broadcast on multiple television stations. Xu Guixiang fought on the southern border in his youth, gaining more experience with the iron and smoke of war than others. However, this does not mean that life experience determines everything: even among military writers, those who have a genuine interest in war and military themes are not the majority, and those who excel in matters of romance are no fewer than those outside the field. Perhaps only certain genetic and bloodline traits can explain it. Xu Guixiang's When Osmanthus Blossoms Across the Fields in August is an attempt to "get close to historical truth and interpret that war from the perspective of humanity and human nature." If Xu Guixiang's The Sky of History won numerous readers and viewers by showcasing the personalities and humanity in war, then When Osmanthus Blossoms Across the Fields in August elevates the creative purpose to the level of forging national character and the spirit of the nation. These grand and tumultuous war stories awaken the national pride and confidence that lie dormant in our blood, bones, and deep memories, promoting our sense of national pride and the spirit of perseverance.
