Features: This book compiles major land combat weapons from around the world, including main battle tanks, armored vehicles and light vehicles, artillery, anti-tank missiles, air defense systems and ground/air surveillance systems, combat supply systems, and individual weapons. Overall, the development of land combat weapons remains a competition in firepower, mobility, all-weather capability, and survivability. With the evolution of modern warfare models, this development shows a dual trend: a focus on long-range strikes with greater force and precision, and the "intelligence" of individual soldiers. Due to the three-dimensional and systematic nature of war, the role of conventional weapons in breaking through enemy lines seems to have shifted to "maintaining order," as seen in the recent U.S. invasion of Iraq. That is, although throughout human history, weapons have been extensions of physical strength, the infusion of modern IT has led to variations in conventional strategy, and the role of conventional weapons has inevitably changed. "Modern Warfare Weapons Revealed" provides new insights.
