The author breaks through certain theories and experiences of ideological and political education under the planned economy system. Through six aspects— "Strategic Position," "Object Analysis," "Basic Principles," "Methodological System," "System of Ideological and Political Education in Various Fields," and "Subject Construction"—the book systematically elaborates on the theoretical system of ideological and political education for the 21st century, achieving a high degree of unity between theoretical logic and practical experience, as well as historical logic. Based on an in-depth analysis and comparison of previous concepts and categories in ideological and political education, the author proposes and redefines the core concepts and fundamental categories of the theory of ideological and political education. The author argues that the fundamental contradiction in the process of ideological and political education is the "contradiction between the political, ideological, moral, and psychological qualities required for social development and the current level of the work." At the same time, the author thoroughly demonstrates the three goals of ideological and political education: cultivating socialist political, ideological, and moral qualities that meet the needs of the 21st century; shaping socialist ideal personalities suited for the 21st century; and guiding people toward positive and correct behavior. In line with these three goals, the author proposes corresponding theoretical models and logical requirements, all of which represent innovative theoretical achievements. Moreover, the author introduces the Personality Dynamics Theory, developed over the past 20 years, into the study of ideological and political education theory. This holds groundbreaking significance for deeply revealing the laws of formation and development of the thoughts, morals, and personalities of the target audience, the formation of ideal personalities, and behavioral changes, making the research on the laws and methods of ideological and political education more profound, scientific, and standardized. By applying Marxist theories of social ideology and reception studies to the research of ideological and political education, the author deepens the understanding of the laws of development and change in people's ideological consciousness and moral qualities, as well as the laws of reception, further advancing the theory of ideological and political education.
