Features: This book categorizes a group of homologous and synonymous idioms, with the most frequently used identified as common idioms and the rest as variant idioms. The book includes 1045 commonly used common-variant idiom groups. Each group lists the common idiom first. Variant idioms do not have separate cross-reference entries to save space. Within each group, the common idiom is listed first, marked with "[]". Variant idioms are arranged in descending order of usage frequency. The entire book is arranged in alphabetical order of the first character of the common idiom, and if the first characters are the same, it is arranged by the second character. The stylistic tone is divided into written and spoken. If the written tone is very strong, the language is expressed as "often used"; if the written tone is moderately strong, it is expressed as "tends to"; and if there is no obvious stylistic feature, no expression is provided. [Examples] Generally, only examples of common idioms are included, but sometimes examples of variant idioms are also included. Most examples are selected from the works of contemporary and modern writers, and these examples are marked with their sources. However, examples of some idioms may be self-composed by the author, and these examples are not marked with sources.
