Brave Russians

Author: Wang Yubo
Publisher:
Publish Date: 2001-09-01
Features: When life is comfortable, people often do not content themselves with enjoying the gifts of nature and the legacy left by predecessors. Instead, they always seek excitement, exercise, and demonstrate their courage through ways like "challenging oneself" and "pushing limits," such as bungee jumping, hiking, exploration, sailing, and mountain climbing. Peter the Great also established a Chief Inspector, known as the "Eyes of the Emperor," to supervise and inspect the work of the Chancellery. Peter the Great also carried out two reforms of local administrative institutions, with the governors of over 50 provinces in the country directly subordinate to the central government. The position of the Grand Mufti was abolished, and the church was managed by the Religious Council, directly under the authority of the Tsar. This book studies the ideology of the Russian nation, the rich cultural heritage of the Russians, their daily lives, and their distinct national character from multiple perspectives.
