Features: Ci, as a unique form of Chinese literature, is an inevitable product of the development of classical Chinese poetry to a certain historical stage. Breaking the rigid patterns of traditional poetry, each line does not necessarily have to be of equal length, but can be adjusted in length as needed. In terms of structure, it can be determined by content, ranging from single pieces to double ones. Poets can either use existing tunes or compose new ones, and the language can be straightforward and conversational. As a result, it has gained the favor of authors and the popularity of readers. Ci originated in the Tang Dynasty and flourished in the Song Dynasty. After the Tang and Five Dynasties period, many dedicated to Ci, and many excelled in both poetry and Ci. Various styles, schools, and scales of Ci anthologies emerged. The Ci Zong compiled and selected by the Qing Dynasty poet Zhu Yizun is one of the largest and best-compiled Ci anthologies in ancient China. Zhu Yizun (1629–1790), styled Xichuan and known as Zhuchai, was from Xiushui, Zhejiang. During the Kangxi reign, he passed the imperial examination and was appointed as a censor. In terms of Ci composition, he was one of the representative figures of the Zhexi Ci school, advocating that Ci should be distinct from poetry. He emphasized expressing joyful sentiments, maintaining a graceful and delicate style, striving for craftsmanship, and strictly adhering to the rules of Ci.
