6. The dictionary lists synonyms, antonyms, and derived words of phrasal verbs under relevant entries, further aiding learners in understanding and acquiring phrasal verbs.
7. At the end of the main text, a particle index is appended, summarizing the meanings and usage of particles appearing in phrasal verbs. It categorizes the phrasal verbs collected in the dictionary based on the meanings of particles, providing a useful tool for students to understand continuously emerging phrasal verbs.
The compilation of this dictionary was supported by the encouragement, guidance, and assistance of many experts and mentors. The renowned linguist, Mr. Wang Zongyan, wrote a lengthy preface for the dictionary and reviewed drafts of letters A, H, I, J, and T. Professor Chen Yongpei of the School of Foreign Languages at Sun Yat-sen University set aside his work and devoted significant time to meticulously reviewing the entire manuscript. Dr. Paul Meara, the former president of the British Association of Applied Linguistics and a lexicography and corpus consultant at Longman Publishing Group, reviewed the initial English definitions and example sentences of the dictionary.
I extend my heartfelt gratitude and respect to them.
