Hundred Years of Children's Literature Masterpieces (6 Books)

Author: Chen Guowei
Publisher:
Publishing Date: 2000-01-01
Features: Children's literature is specifically created to attract and enhance the reading and appreciation needs of young people. Due to the long influence of the feudal society, children were not valued, and literary works created intentionally for them were scarce. For a long time, only rhymes, stories, legends, and other forms of oral tradition were passed down among children, becoming spiritual nourishment that nurtured their young minds, guided them to open their eyes to the world, and added wisdom and courage. It is hoped that The Century of Children's Literature Masterpieces will become children's favorite! In the past century, from 1900 to 1999, China's children's literature has gone through several stages: early (sprouting), vigorous development after the May Fourth Movement, comprehensive development after the liberation of the nation, and prosperity in the new era. As we welcome the new century, The Century of Children's Literature Masterpieces selects the best works from each historical stage, divided into five volumes: Children's Novels (Volume 1 and 2), Fairy Tales, Fables, Poetry, and Science and Literature. The format of each volume is as follows: After each selected work, there is an "Appreciation" of approximately 500-1,000 words, mainly introducing the publication time and historical background of the work, the author's background, and focusing on exploring the ideological connotations and artistic achievements. We have targeted this book's readers as young people, specifically those aged 11-12 to 15-16, including upper elementary and junior high school students. It can also serve as a reference book for teachers and parents to teach children. During the selection process, omissions and inappropriate choices were inevitable, and the "Appreciation" texts may also contain biases. We hope to receive criticism and corrections from readers.
