Right epididymal nodule and pain, how to deal with it

Patient's question:

Twenty years ago, the left testicular inflammation was removed. The right epididymis also developed hard lumps again. Occasionally, when it recurred with pain, taking oral anti-inflammatory medication would resolve the issue. This time, on the second day of the Chinese New Year, it recurred again, and after receiving intravenous fluids for five days and taking thirteen herbal decoctions, although I can now go back to work, the hard lumps are still there and they easily recur if I'm not careful.

Doctor's answer:

Clinical diagnosis of testicular pain is commonly associated with the symptoms of orchitis. Experienced experts can identify the condition through palpation and careful observation for the presence of lumps. Additionally, combining ultrasound and blood tests is necessary for a comprehensive evaluation and definitive diagnosis. In certain cases, imaging studies such as X-rays, CT scans, and MRI may also be required for thorough examination.
Treatment for testicular pain should be based on identifying the underlying cause and implementing symptomatic therapy. If the cause cannot be immediately determined, symptomatic treatment such as sedation and blood-activating measures may be administered. In some cases, pudendal block with procaine may be used when necessary.
The epididymis can recover, but the treatment period is typically long, and the condition is prone to recurrence after recovery. Therefore, active cooperation with the doctor and appropriate medication are essential during the treatment process.
