Qinhuangdao, formerly known as Linyu, is located in the northeastern part of Hebei Province. It covers an area of 7,752 square kilometers and has a population of 2.3 million, with 440,000 urban residents. The city is divided into three districts: Haigang, Shanhaiguan, and Beidaihe. It is backed by the eastern end of the Yan Mountains and faces the vast Bohai Sea to the southeast, making it a year-round non-frozen in northern China. The city boasts beautiful scenery, a cool summer climate, gentle beaches with calm tides, and a superior natural environment, as well as numerous cultural relics and historical sites.
Legend has it that Qinhuangdao was named after Emperor Qin Shi Huang's eastern inspection tour here. With a long history and stunning landscapes, it is home to many natural wonders and historical landmarks: Beidaihe, a summer resort; Shanhaiguan, an ancient city; and the Meng Jiangnu Temple, a legendary ancient structure.
Qinhuangdao has a coastline of 124 kilometers, with soft sandy beaches, gentle waves, and abundant sunshine, making it an ideal seaside resort. In the autumn season, visitors can enjoy the fragrance of fruits, savor fresh seafood, watch sunrises, and witness the tide, making the most of their time in this beautiful city.
