Heart of a Starry-eyed Girl

Author: Li Jingbo

Publish Date: 2002-06-01
Features: The authors of this collection are some female middle school students from Beijing, Shanghai, Wuhan, and other places. Their heartfelt voices should be able to reflect the general picture of the phenomenon of idol worship. During our interactions with them, after proposing the idea of publishing a book like this, what surprised us was the girls' calm attitude toward the matter. Instead, it was they who worried about the impact of their actions on their teachers and parents. Instead of fearing disapproval, they feared that their teachers and parents would look at them differently. This concern about being "looked at differently" also reflects their mindset—a derogatory one shaped by social and humanistic background.
