Features: A groundbreaking cancer revolution book in Japan. A guide for rational action by cancer patients, breaking through traditional cancer treatment concepts and thoroughly rethinking cancer therapy. A must-read book, Huaxia Pocket Books. Why are there more and more cancer cases? Why are surgery and chemotherapy ineffective for 90% of cancer patients? Why is cancer screening more harmful than beneficial? Why does early detection and early treatment not extend cancer patients' lives? This sensational book in Japan will give cancer doctors a wake-up call! Wake up! Those who refuse to be slaves to cancer! The book is divided into 10 chapters and was originally serialized in Japan's "Literary Spring" magazine from 1995 to 1996, winning the Readers' Award. It provides an in-depth exploration of cancer, critiques conventional treatment methods and ingrained views, and presents groundbreaking conclusions: surgery is largely ineffective for cancer; chemotherapy is meaningful only for 10% of cancer patients; cancer screening is more harmful than beneficial. The authors' unconventional insights can liberate more people from fear and anxiety about cancer. This book is based on the revisions of articles I serialized in "Literary Spring" magazine starting in February 1995. The original serialized title was "When You Have Cancer, Go to the Frontline of Cancer." The article received immense response from all walks of life. I myself wanted to say and write more, so I extended the originally planned three installments to ten. The book compiles all the knowledge readers should understand about cancer or its treatment, thus becoming a standalone volume.
Regarding cancer and its treatment methods, people have formed certain fixed common sense or conventional views: cancer is terrifying, and if one has cancer, they should undergo surgery or chemotherapy. The best way to fight cancer is early detection, early treatment, and mandatory cancer screening, etc. This book thoroughly examines these fixed common sense or conventional views and concludes: surgery is largely ineffective for cancer, chemotherapy drugs are meaningful only for 10% of cancer patients, and cancer screening is more harmful than beneficial. This book is not to say that cancer can be cured if done this way, or that the future of cancer treatment is bright. What I want to explain is that cancer remains incurable now and in the future. So, doesn’t this contradict the original intention? Wouldn’t people’s fear and anxiety about cancer increase even more? In reality, the reason for this fear and anxiety is the lack of understanding or misunderstanding of the nature of cancer. Once new knowledge and perspectives are acquired, this anxiety and fear will naturally dissipate. After the full serialization was completed, I received a letter from a gentleman at a publishing house, saying, "After truly understanding cancer, I realized it’s not so scary, and my mental state has also become lighter." I hope that after reading this book, more people can be liberated from their fear and anxiety about cancer.
Another feature of this book is its emphasis on theory, supported by science. It scientifically and theoretically analyzes the nature and characteristics of cancer and its treatment, offering fresh and useful knowledge and perspectives even to cancer treatment experts. However, to make it easier for general readers to understand, I have tried to use plain language as much as possible. To be honest, I have put a lot of effort into making the content of this book accessible in plain language. The book also introduces the difference between "true cancer" and "suspected cancer." There are true and suspected cancers in cancer, a new concept that might seem difficult to understand at first, but I believe it is a simple and straightforward term. Moreover, if the concept of "suspected cancer" is further proven, it could lead to the fundamental collapse of the current cancer treatment system. Please read this book’s arguments patiently. I sometimes repeat some common-sense content, and during serialization, I worried whether readers would understand it. When compiling this book, I learned that the voting results for all articles in "Literary Spring" magazine in 1995 showed that 20% of readers supported the serialized content, and it won the 57th "Literary Spring" Readers' Award. This my original concerns, and I would like to express my gratitude to all readers who were passionate about the serialization.
From the beginning of the serialization, I tried to list the real names of cancer experts and the hospitals they belong to, determined to expose them completely. Why did I do this? Because the book aims to correct the accepted common sense and ingrained views, which are shaped by these experts. Japan’s poor outcomes in cancer treatment are, in fact, due to the actions and words of so-called authorities, famous doctors, and other experts. This book analyzes these experts’ actions and words from this perspective. Since I have cited their real names, I also expect them to respond. I have published two other books: "The Cancer Treatment I Want to Receive" (Aozora Shuppan) and "Is Cancer Cured by Surgery?" (Shinchōsha). Part of the content in this book overlaps with the two aforementioned books. As mentioned earlier, the serialized articles were extended beyond the original three installments, so when compiling this book, I considered deleting the repetitive parts. However, I thought that if I removed the already published content, it might be misinterpreted as problematic. Since I have cited the experts’ real names, I decided to keep the original content as is. Additionally, each chapter was serialized in one issue, so readers can start from any issue without issue. However, there may be some repetition in the transitions at the end of each chapter, so please bear with it.
I also wrote this book with the hope of using cancer as a stage to reconstruct modern medicine. Modern medicine is based on Western medicine, but for modern medicine or Western medicine, it only examines diseases and organs, not patients, which has been severely criticized. Therefore, many people turn to traditional Chinese medicine and folk therapies for cancer treatment. But why does medicine and medical treatment that does not examine people or cannot examine people exist? Modern medicine and Western medicine are based on science, and as long as science is used correctly, it can benefit humanity. Regarding the criticism of Western medicine mentioned earlier, we should hold the view that the problem does not lie in modern medicine itself but in the way doctors practice it. Until now, modern medicine has been considered capable of treating diseases but not people because doctors who use modern medicine blindly treat everything they encounter, whether it’s cancer or other diseases. A typical example is cancer treatment: for patients with limited time to live, doctors perform organ removal surgery or radiotherapy and chemotherapy, which are seen as treating organs rather than patients. This is unavoidable. If humanity does not abuse science and technology but uses science to understand the nature of cancer or patients, I am confident that modern medicine can definitely benefit humanity. How can patients in modern medicine regain their rights and humanity? I hope to prescribe a suitable remedy for patients.
