How to treat prostatitis symptoms

Patient's question:

I recently have not been urinating properly. After a thorough examination, the doctor said I might have prostatitis. I would like to ask how to treat the symptoms of prostatitis?

Doctor's answer:

Prostatitis has two types, one of which is caused by infectious inflammation of the prostate, and the other is caused by lifestyle factors. The treatment methods for these two types are different. For the infectious type, antibiotics are typically used, usually sensitive antibiotics administered intravenously or orally. For the non-infectious type, anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and psychological treatments are used. Local treatments include: first, directly administering anesthetics into the prostate; second, administering anesthetics via the vas deferens; third, administering anesthetics via the urethra; fifth, administering anesthetics via the rectal route. Prostate heat treatments include microwave, shortwave, ultrashortwave, infrared, and radiofrequency, as well as magnetotherapy. For acute prostatitis with abscess formation, timely incision and drainage are necessary.
