Patient's question:
Recently, I've been feeling a bit unwell. Today during an ultrasound, the doctor said I have a prostatic cyst. I'm generally healthy and have a normal sex life, and I'm not married yet. I'm wondering what impact a prostatic cyst has on the body.Doctor's answer:
It is due to congenital or acquired reasons of the prostate gland that leads to recurrent cystic changes. Prostate cysts may be infected with secondary neurons and stones. Larger cysts can obstruct the urethra, causing difficulty in urination. Common symptoms include urinary urgency, frequent urination, difficulty urinating, thin urine stream, and urinary retention. Prostate cysts can lead to other diseases. Sometimes, purulent secretions may flow from the urethra in prostate cysts. Digital rectal examination can detect a vibrating sensation in the prostate, but it often appears in later stages. Occasionally, abscesses may rupture into the urethra, rectum, perineum, or periurethral space, causing connective tissue inflammation. However, some patients may not have fever. The main harm is manifested as lower urinary tract obstruction, and many patients also have epididymitis and orchitis.
