Adult enuresis what medicine to take

Patient's question:

My best friend had a minor gynecological surgery a while ago, and I recently went to take care of her. I noticed that it wasn't just a gynecological issue—sometimes I found a bit of wetness on her pad. At first, she was embarrassed to tell me, but later she admitted that it was bedwetting. So, I'm wondering what medication adults can take for bedwetting.

Doctor's answer:

Adults suddenly wetting the bed is caused by excessive fatigue, low immunity, staying up all night, psychological stress, physical weakness, and dreaming, among other reasons. Usually, if bedwetting occurs only once, it is typically not a problem and does not require treatment. However, if adults frequently wet the bed, it may indicate an underlying illness, primarily caused by damage to the central nervous system that controls urination. It is recommended to examine bladder function and spinal nerves. Occasional bedwetting generally does not harm the patient's body but may have some adverse effects on their psychology. As long as good living habits are developed, it is usually unnecessary to wet the bed again, so there is no need to worry too much.
