It also demonstrates the patriotic spirit of Shenzhen University students, who are rooted in Shenzhen, have a vision for the country, and embrace a broad-minded perspective.
In July to October 2005, Shenzhen University implemented a series of summer "Three Rural" social practice activities, including social research, volunteer services, community visits, and enterprise visits, jointly organized by the School of Social Sciences and the University Youth League Committee. In this way, 95 teams went deep into society with thought and passion. They visited rural areas, traveling to impoverished mountainous regions in Yunnan and Guizhou to deliver education, culture, legal aid, and healthcare to the public, while assisting in poverty alleviation and support. They entered enterprises, including state-owned, foreign-invested, and private companies, to understand the conditions of these businesses and to care about the labor and living conditions of their employees. They also visited communities, experiencing the atmosphere and learning about the development and growth of community culture.
The content selected for this book is composed of outstanding articles chosen from the investigation reports and essays of 95 social practice teams. Reading this book, we can encounter: the vivid reality of society, the complex social landscape, and the historical, objective, and comprehensive observations and analyses by university students on the people's livelihood and the national conditions.
