Features: The so-called "Paris Manuscripts" refers to the abbreviation of Marx's "Economic and Philosophic Manuscripts of 1844," an early economic and philosophical work by Marx that contains a wealth of aesthetic ideas. Based on a review and summary of the two major discussions about the Manuscripts in Chinese academia during the 1950s and 1960s and the 1980s, the author attempts to explore the spiritual essence and authentic context of Marx's aesthetics through systematic research and in-depth interpretation of the aesthetic ideas in the Manuscripts. Focusing on the philosophical ontology of aesthetics in the Manuscripts, the author interprets, excavates, and explores the aesthetic ideas in the Manuscripts and their contemporary significance. Particularly through a comparative analysis of the alienation theory, ideological theory, and cultural production theory of Western left-wing aesthetics represented by Lukács, Eagleton, and Jameson, the author reveals the genealogy of the aesthetic ideas in the Manuscripts and their influence on the forefront of contemporary aesthetics. Thus, the author presents a comprehensive picture and developmental trajectory of the aesthetic ideas in the Manuscripts.
