In 2003, the Writers' Publishing House released The Collected Works of Cao Wenxuan (9 volumes), which also received widespread acclaim. In 2005, Yangtze River Literature and Art Press published his new long novel The Starry Sky, with an initial print run of 100,000 copies, sparking much discussion in the literary community. Cao Wenxuan's works have also been selected multiple times for inclusion in domestic and international Chinese language textbooks.
