"Man, Years, Life" consists of six parts, serialized in the Soviet magazine "New World" starting from 1960. Later, after the author's additions and revisions, it was included in the eighth and ninth volumes of the nine-volume "Ehrenburg Collection" published by the Soviet Writers' Publishing House in 1967. This work mainly includes two parts: one is the author's autobiography, and the other is the author's recollections of his contemporaries. This abridged edition is a compilation of the recollections of fifty-one contemporaries chosen by the translator from Ehrenburg's "Man, Years, Life."
