Features: Hypertension is a common disease, often found in middle-aged and elderly people, with two types: primary and secondary. Its symptoms usually vary depending on the patient's constitution. In the early stages, patients may experience no symptoms or only mild issues such as dizziness, tinnitus, insomnia at night, palpitations, feeling as if floating in the air while walking, and being easily angered. Severe cases can lead to systemic atherosclerosis, coronary heart disease, and a series of lesions in organs such as the kidneys and brain, potentially even resulting in a stroke.
If patients are long-term and combine dietary treatment with medication, hypertension can still be prevented and treated. However, many hypertensive patients do not understand how to self-care or are unfamiliar with foods that help lower blood pressure. Some may even be aware of such foods but lack knowledge of how to cook them scientifically. For this reason, the book Dietary Recipes for Hypertension Management was written.
This book is divided into three parts: The first part, "Dietary Self-Care," provides a concise introduction to self-regulation and dietary principles for hypertensive patients; the second part, "Proven Dietary Recipes," includes over fifty dietary recipes that help lower blood pressure; the third part, "Dietary Recipes," is the highlight of the book. Based on the dietary needs of hypertensive patients, it selects and introduces 56 foods with blood-pressure-lowering effects, detailing the therapeutic benefits of each. The book is organized by cooking ingredients, introducing over three hundred types of dishes, pastries, porridge, soups, stews, and sauces with scientific cooking methods. The "Appendix" includes a table of nutritional compositions of foods that help treat hypertension for easy reference.
