Translation Teaching -- Practice and Theory

Author: Liu Miqing
Publisher:
Publishing Time: Not available
Features: This book was conceived at Dublin University in Ireland and largely completed at National Taiwan Normal University. It shares my insights, experiences, confusions, and explorations in translation and translation research. After thirty years of dedication, I hope it will benefit future scholars on this fertile land of China. I am deeply grateful to my friends and faculty at Dublin University for reopening a window for me to view European education and culture through an Irish perspective that blends emotion and reason. I am also very grateful to my colleagues at the Translation Research Institute of National Taiwan Normal University, especially Professor Shi Yuhui (former Dean of the College), Professor He Huiling (former Director), and Professor Zhou Zhongtian (current Director of the Institute), for their support and meticulous care. I am also grateful to my twenty-plus outstanding and eager-to-learn disciples, who not only provided excellent viewpoints and arguments for my book but also, from the moment I arrived in Taiwan, offered their passion and sincerity as Taiwanese people, leaving me deeply moved.
