Features: "The Two Captures" () contains 80 stories, most of which revolve around the themes of good goods and good looks, which perfectly align with the money and beauty of capitalism. Compared to feudal society, capitalism's progress lies in the liberation of individuality and humanity from feudal constraints, while its backwardness lies in the expansion and indulgence of private desires. This shows the limitations and incompleteness of capitalism in liberating feudalism. In the past, many people regarded Ling's "Two Captures" as heresy, which was clearly biased. To take the essence and discard the dross, adopting a critical inheritance has always been the attitude and method that should be held towards cultural heritage. I believe readers will each gain their own insights. This book was compiled by Ling Mengchu of the Ming Dynasty, based on the rewriting and collection of popular tales from the Song, Yuan, and Ming dynasties. Set against the backdrop of daily life and commerce, it comprehensively reflects the joys and sorrows of the urban middle class, as well as their dissatisfaction with the feudal system and rituals. For readers who enjoy classical literature, it is worth reading.
