1. The China Agricultural Yearbook is a reference book that reflects the basic conditions of agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry, fishery, townships and enterprises, agricultural reclamation, agricultural machinery, water conservancy, and meteorology in our country. It is published annually, with minimal repetition of content from previous volumes.
2. The contributors to the yearbook are primarily staff members from relevant professional agencies and research departments. Statistical data are provided or verified by the National Bureau of Statistics and the planning departments of ministries (bureaus) such as Agriculture, Forestry, Meteorology, and Education, as well as relevant departments in all provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities directly under the Central Government. These data are first published in this yearbook.
3. The provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities are arranged in the order of administrative divisions.
4. The time boundary of the data in this yearbook generally covers the end of 1998.
5. The data for each category are limited to the 31 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities directly under the Central Government. The total output value of each item, unless otherwise specified, is calculated at current prices, and the year-on-year growth rate is computed based on comparable prices.
