Features: "Microcomputer Principles and Applications" is a mandatory and important foundational course for undergraduate students in engineering majors at universities. Its objective is to enable students to master the basic composition, working principles, interface functions, and system connections of microcomputers, thereby establishing a fundamental understanding of microcomputers. On this basis, it aims to equip students with preliminary abilities in the software and hardware development of microcomputer application systems. Guided by the above fundamental principles and combined with years of teaching experience, this book introduces and analyzes the principles and applications of microcomputers using the 8086/8088 CPU and MCS-51 microcontroller. The book is divided into two parts. The first part, using the Intel 8086/8088 microprocessor and the IBM PC/XT series microcomputer as models, systematically introduces the basic composition, working principles, and interface technology of 16-bit microcomputer systems, including the following main content: an overview of microcomputers, the 8086/8088 microprocessor, the instruction system and addressing modes of 8086/8088, assembly language programming, memory, input/output interface technology, microcomputer interrupt technology, interface technology and applications. The second part, using the MCS-51 microcontroller as a model, systematically introduces the basic composition, working principles, and system development applications of the MCS-51 microcontroller, including the following main content: an overview of microcontrollers, the structure and principles of the MCS-51 microcontroller, the instruction system of the MCS-51 microcontroller, the interrupt system of the MCS-51 microcontroller, the timer/counter of the MCS-51 microcontroller and its applications, and microcontroller development technology. This book can serve as a textbook for undergraduate students in non-computer engineering majors at universities to study the principles and applications of microcomputers and microcontrollers. It can also be used as a reference for engineering and technical personnel engaged in microcomputer hardware or software development for scientific research and development. The book is accompanied by an appropriate number of exercises and a corresponding experimental guide.
