Features: Wang Cheng, a Hui ethnic minority, was born in Guiyang in 1972. In 1990, he was admitted to the Landscape Painting program of the Chinese Painting Department at the China Academy of Art, studying under masters such as Kong Zhongqi, Tong Zhongtao, Zhuo Hejun, and Chen Xiangxun. He graduated in 1994 with a Bachelor's degree in Arts and was admitted to the postgraduate program in Chinese Landscape Painting at the School of Art, Guizhou University in 2004. Due to his outstanding performance, he graduated early in July 2006 and received a Master's degree. His selected works participated in the exhibition "Ink Traces of Guizhou" (National Art Museum of China) in 1995, was selected for the "1998 Chinese Painting Exhibition" (Chinese Painting Research Institute) in 1998, and took part in the "Landscape Painting Exhibition of Five Artists from Guizhou" (Shenzhen Art Museum) in 2001. In 2002, he was selected for the "China, Chinese Calligraphy and Painting Art Exhibition" organized by the Ministry of Culture and held at the Moscow Artists' Center, as well as the "Toronto International Ink Painting Biennial Exhibition," where he won the Excellence Award and Innovation Award. In 2004, his works were included in the "Landscape Painting Collection of Cangzhou Artists — Invitation Exhibition of Cangzhou-Nominated Masters," and he was selected for the "Lichang Huai — Second National Youth Chinese Painting Exhibition." The Guizhou People's Political Consultative Conference also held the "Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition Celebrating the 55th Anniversary of the Establishment of the People's Political Consultative Conference." In 2005, he was selected for the "Third Western Land and Emotion Exhibition" and won the Excellence Award. In 2005, the China National Calligraphers Association published his personal art book, "Selected Works of Wang Cheng," edited by China National Calligraphers Press. His works have been published in newspapers and magazines such as "New Art," "Zhejiang Daily," "Chinese Painter," "Shenzhen Special Zone Daily," "Guizhou Daily," "People's Daily Overseas Edition," "Art of Calligraphy and Painting," and "Chinese Calligraphers." They have also been collected by institutions such as the China Academy of Art, the China-Japan Friendship Association, the Shenzhen Art Museum, the Ministry of Civil Affairs, Guiyang Television Station, and individuals both domestically and abroad.
