Features: Chinese figure painting is one of the earliest genres to develop in the history of painting. Over a long historical process, it has gradually formed the artistic concept of "depicting the spirit through form, achieving both form and spirit." In terms of expression, it has consistently emphasized the use of line-based artistic techniques, conveying emotions and meanings through brush and ink. In terms of painting tools and materials, after continuous exploration and research by generations of painters and craftsmen, it has presented painting styles that embody their own aesthetic concepts and value orientations, enjoying a high reputation in the history of world painting art. The conceptual modeling, line-based approach, brush-and-ink expression, and techniques of Chinese figure painting have become mature, forming a self-contained system of modeling and expression. Especially during the prosperous Han and Tang dynasties, a galaxy of talented figures emerged, creating historical brilliance and reaching the peak of history. During the Five Dynasties and the Northern and Southern Song dynasties, landscape painting and flower-and-bird painting separated from the background or accessories of figure painting and developed into independent genres, flourishing until the Ming and Qing dynasties when literati painting rose, greatly advocating the integration of poetry, calligraphy, painting, and seal carving, emphasizing individual expression. This injected fresh vitality into figure painting, giving rise to a generation of great masters such as Zhao Mengfu, Wang Yi, Tang Yin, Wen Zhengming, Qiu Ying, Zeng Jing, Chen Hongshou, Shi Tao, Jin Nong, Huang Shen, and Ren Boqian.
