Features: The Core Course of Legal English consists of three volumes, each with 16 units. Each unit is composed of two to three texts and systematic language and legal skills exercises. The exercises are diverse and cover a wide range. As a comprehensive foundational textbook (or intensive reading material) for cultivating compound talents in "Law + English" and "English + Law," this course not only emphasizes the development of English skills such as reading, writing, speaking, and translation in the exercises but also places special emphasis on legal knowledge input. The texts in each unit are systematic, coherent, and progressively structured. The texts in the first volume are primarily focused on fundamental legal knowledge. The second volume focuses on international economic law, while the third volume emphasizes the input of legal discussion materials, using in-depth exploration to cultivate students' legal skills and analytical abilities. At the same time, it emphasizes the ability to use English materials for legal practice and research, enabling students to fully leverage and utilize their English advantages. The first two volumes of this course also include cases related to the unit's legal theme in each unit, allowing learners to master the legal knowledge and skills of the unit through legal examples. This volume is the first volume, divided into 16 units. Its content covers fundamental knowledge in various aspects of law, such as the definition, classification, sources of law, the relationship between law and society, morality, property, and business activities, as well as the basic concepts of legislation, adjudication, and enforcement, the composition of courts, and the similarities and differences between different judicial systems, and so on. Each unit includes three legal English texts. The first text is the key focus of the entire unit, while the second and third texts provide deeper elaboration and supplementation. The third text consists of relevant cases to promote learners' comprehension, consolidation, and application of the unit's legal knowledge, as well as to enhance their reading ability in legal English.
