Features: "Practical Work of Prison Sub-Sections" is a newly developed and offered applied core course for the Criminal Execution program at the Criminal Justice Department of Zhejiang Police College. It primarily introduces the fundamental knowledge and operational skills of various practical tasks in prison sub-sections, which are the grassroots organizational units responsible for the execution of criminal penalties. Sub-sections are at the frontline of prison work, directly undertaking the heavy tasks of punishing and reforming inmates. It can be said that sub-section work nearly covers all aspects of prison operations. Most students in the Criminal Execution program will work at the frontline of sub-sections after graduation, making this course essential for them. Through instruction, students will systematically understand and master the main responsibilities, procedures, and key considerations in sub-section work, as well as the latest research findings and practical experiences in current sub-section operations. This will lay a solid foundation for them to adapt quickly to their work environment after graduation. During the teaching process, the course adheres to the principle of combining theory with practice, deepening students' understanding of the content through lectures, organized discussions, case analysis, simulated training, and prison internships. At the same time, to enhance students' practical operational skills, the authors have developed a "Practical Ability Teaching Manual" based on the curriculum of "Practical Work of Prison Sub-Sections." The manual includes several practical skill projects that criminal execution students must master. Students will conduct training according to the manual's requirements and be assessed on each skill to achieve a certain proficiency level. Therefore, during the teaching process, "Practical Work of Prison Sub-Sections" should be used in conjunction with the "Practical Ability Teaching Manual." Through the teaching of practical knowledge and the training and assessment of practical skills, students will be truly cultivated into applied talents for prison work, possessing both theoretical knowledge and strong practical operational skills.
