Features: The widespread use of the internet is a characteristic of modern society. Modern distance education is also a new educational method that has emerged due to the popularity of the internet. It offers a series of features that traditional education lacks, such as convenient instruction, efficient learning, strong autonomy, and rapid content updates, which have made it increasingly recognized and valued by society. For this reason, the Peking University School of Law organized the writing of the "Peking University Distance Education Law Trial Textbook" in early 2001, combining the characteristics of modern distance education, and supplemented it with teaching courseware to help students complete their law studies online. This textbook has been used in actual teaching for over ten copies, with four of them being publicly published and distributed by the People's Court Press.
After more than a year of trial use, the "Peking University Distance Education Law Trial Textbook" has received positive reviews from readers. Especially, it combines traditional printed textbooks with the internet, allowing students to fully utilize this modern educational tool for autonomous learning. This is not only beneficial for students to master basic knowledge but also convenient for them to learn and consolidate related content online. This has also become a distinctive feature of the textbook compared to other law textbooks.
For this reason, the Peking University School of Law has decided to rename the textbook as the "Peking University Distance Education Law Series Textbooks" and has established a dedicated editorial committee to further improve and supplement the textbook on the original basis. This aims to make its format and content relatively stable and its system more complete.
