Her husband Sun Xiwang is kind-hearted, intelligent, and down-to-earth, but he is timid and afraid of causing trouble for Shuangshuang. During the commune period, Shuangshuang, despite Xiwang's opposition, repeatedly exposed and criticized the behavior of some individuals who sought personal gain at the expense of the collective. She also fought against feudal notions like arranged marriages, leading to frequent conflicts between the couple, to the point where Xiwang couldn't bear it and left home on several occasions. After being elected as the women's team leader, Shuangshuang led the villagers in making the production work vibrant. With Shuangshuang's help and the education of facts, Xiwang finally came to his senses, and the couple reconciled. The few officials and villagers who took advantage of the collective also changed their backward mindset, and the production team showed new vitality.
