The answer is: As long as you believe in them, give them opportunities, provide them with careful guidance, and offer timely encouragement, they can show us their infinite potential for self-growth.
Learn first, then practice
Whenever we notice some of our children's abilities growing, we can try to give them more freedom. When parents step back a little, children can take a step forward. Xiao Guo's father is a meticulous person. He gave Xiao Guo a beautiful small bookshelf and taught her how to categorize and arrange toys. Xiao Guo was very happy to have such a wonderful gift and often mentioned it to her friends and teachers. After a while, her father took out colorful small pieces of paper and made labels for each compartment of the bookshelf with Xiao Guo, helping her organize her books and toys in designated places. After some training and reminders, Xiao Guo had basically learned to independently complete the tidying-up work. Her father often praised her in front of her teachers and friends for learning to organize items. Then, at home, her father not only gave Xiao Guo the task of tidying up toys and books but also taught her to fold and put away her clothes. Gradually, Xiao Guo developed the good habit of regularly organizing her personal belongings and sometimes even voluntarily helped her parents with tidying things. Give children a chance to achieve their potential. Teach them how to make phone calls, how to arrange meeting times and places with their friends, and let them choose their own games for the day. Gradually, we will find that children begin to take the initiative in managing their own lives and no longer constantly cling to us, asking for this and that. They always manage to discover things that make them happy in life. All of this shows that they are beginning to learn to live independently and take control of their own world.
The purpose of education is to educate less, and the ultimate goal of education is to develop and cultivate the inner strength of those being educated, enabling them to grow into towering trees that can stand alone and withstand the wind and rain.
