Features: In China's higher education, various majors in economics and management at all levels generally regard statistics as one of the core courses. Knowledge and skills in statistics have also become an important part of the essential qualities that professionals must possess. Since its emergence in the mid-17th century, statistics has played a significant role in guiding statistical practice in various aspects, such as statistical methods and the scope of statistical understanding. At the same time, statistical theory itself has been continuously enriched, developed, and improved, with new innovations in statistical theory constantly emerging. This requires both statistical theory and statistical practice to be reformed and improved to meet the needs of new socio-economic development. Statistics textbooks should promptly incorporate the innovative achievements of statistical theory and practice to fully leverage the role of statistical theory in guiding statistical practice, enrich and refine statistical theory, and promote the scientific development of statistical practice. At different levels of higher education, the requirements for statistics textbooks and teaching also differ. Based on this, the authors have summarized their years of teaching experience in statistics at vocational and technical colleges and have rewritten this Principles of Statistics. It is hoped that this book will contribute to vocational and technical education and curriculum development.
